A few questions about nice things...
Who do you most admire?
I admire people all the time. Mostly creative and talented people I read about. People who aren’t scared to do their own thing, take risks and make things happen. Oh and I admire my mum for her dedication and endless patience.
What are your favourite possessions?
A box of letters and photographs. A jade American milk glass jug. A vintage gold letter ‘R’ I recently bought. My hoard of stationery and ribbons and the Chinti & Parker cashmere jumper that I bought while I was pregnant and managed to accidently shrink so it now fits perfectly.
Tell us about your perfect day or weekend...
It would start with a lie-in, a delicious breakfast, coffee and newspapers. The sun would be shining so we’d head to our favourite beach in Cornwall with a picnic hamper. Surfing, swimming, wave-dodging and beach-combing would be involved. Later, all our friends would show up and we’d watch the sun set and have a barbecue. Or we’d head home and hit the sofa with a nice bottle of wine, a great film and a roaring fire. Perfect!
What makes you happiest?
Sunshine. Fresh air. Good food. Snuggles and silliness with my boys.
What would you like to do in the future?
I would love for This is Your Kingdom to go from strength to strength and to continue loving what I do. With that taken care of I’d like to carve out some time to tackle my list of places I’d like to go and things I’d like to do; learn how to use my camera properly, re-discover rock climbing, visit Scotland, hang more pictures on my walls, add some new recipes to my repertoire. It’s a long list.
